To have a nutritionally balanced and healthy meal,we are advised to take food with different natural colours. So my concept for this bento is having 5 different colours food other than the 5 tastes. The five colours here is Red,Yellow,Green,White and Black. The arrangement of food is the mix and match of the different tastes too for example the red bell pepper + the bitter gourd is putting together and we can eat them together in the same bite. So,it balance the sweetness and the bitterness.

Sweetness - capsicum(red, yellow & green bell pepper) Sourness - Tomatoes Bitterness - Bitter gourd Saltiness - Ham Umami- Chicken Breast & Shrimp

作り方

  • To prepare the bitter gourd + eggs: Cut the bitter gourd into small slices for easy cooking and rub them together with salt before cooking them to reduce the over bitterness. Minced 2 slices of garlic and add it into the pan and stir-fry,then add the sliced bitter gourd. After stir-fry, add an egg into it and mix them together. Add some soy sauce into it.
  • To prepare the shrimp: Remove those unnecessary part of the prawn. Add 1 teaspoon of butter into the pan, while it is melting, add the prawn into it and saute them quickly until it turns red.
  • To prepare the sliced chicken breast: Put them into the boiled water. When it is cooked, cut them into slices and add the sauce. The sauce is made by 1 teaspoon of sesame oil mix with another 1 teaspoon of soy sauce.
  • To prepare the Ham rolls: use the pan after the shrimp while it still have a little of the butter. Cook them for a short while is enough. Then add the sliced bell pepper and chicken breast and roll them into a roll.
  • To prepare the broccoli: Keep them in a water with salt before cooking. Put them in a boiling water for a short while is enough, as cooking for too long or doing too much on it will caused the vitamins and minerals of broccoli gone. Put some sliced bell pepper and ham on top of it.
  • To prepare the mushroom: Keep them in the water to make them softer before putting them into a boiling water.
